1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace . . .
Psalm 71:1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion
Ours is a world of many voices and many choices. As we try to determine God’s will for our lives questions and doubts can arise.
Lord, do you hear me?
Is this the direction you want me to go?
Is this Your voice or mine?
Do I take this job?
Do I stay in this relationship?
Why did this happen?
Why didn’t that happen?
It can be down right baffling! But as children of God we need not be confused. For our God is the Author of Peace. He gives us the ability to say:
“I will trust in God to guide and protect me. I choose to place my confidence in Him, not in my own ability to figure things out. As I walk in peace I know that He is faithful to lead me and to show me The Way.”
Reflecting on God’s Word
Today if your mind is in turmoil, talk to The Lord about it. Turn to Him, not from Him. Ask God to fill you with His peace. Pray about those things that are confusing and release them. Spend time reading His Word and memorizing scripture that is helpful to you and your circumstance. Share that scripture with someone you trust so that they can encourage you in your journey of faith.
Lord, thank you that you are not a God of confusion, but that Your will for me is peace. Help me to recognize when confusion is trying to settle upon me, and to rebuke it the moment it comes. Help me to take captive my thoughts and to cast down any that are not from You. Help me Lord to replace those thoughts with a reminder that I can trust You. Thank you Lord for Your Presence in my life, and for Your Overwhelming Love for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
