One Easy Way- Pray!

Philippians 4:6,7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (TNIV)

I had to chuckle this morning as I was checking face book on the computer. Off to the side was an ad that described one easy way to relieve stress and anxiety. I couldn’t read the body of the ad without opening it, so I didn’t realize the remedy was herbal.  Instead, the first thought that popped immediately in my mind? Pray!

There may be times when God will direct us to seek help through medical means.  He created and is aware of those things. But, prayer can always be our first course of action. When we present our requests to God, we can be confident that He hears us and is working on our behalf. When we pray with an attitude of thanks, it helps to keep our thoughts on how powerful God is, instead of being “stuck” on how helpless we feel.

So:
The next time stress and anxiety try to come your way,
don’t forget to stop and pray!
