When we see God in ways other than the way He really is, it can cause us to be afraid to come to Him. He is not a stern Father who sits up in heaven just waiting for us to do something wrong so He can punish us. That is a lie and it can keep us in fear. He is the loving God who sent His Son Jesus to save us. We need not live in torment. It is God’s desire that we live in the freedom and knowledge that He loves us perfectly with an everlasting love.
The Lord:
“Beloved, you must quiet yourself and listen for my voice.”
Questions to ponder:
Is there something that is keeping you from listening to God’s voice? Busyness? Guilt ? Fear? Read the scripture verses that follow, then throughout the week determine that you will quiet yourself and listen for His voice. As you are walking, driving to work, or in the quiet of the morning. You need not be afraid.
He is waiting to hear from you!
Ps 46:10
Be still and know that I am God. . . .
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment
…..the Devil. . . . . is a liar and the father of lies.(NLT)
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
